Bitcoin ETFs record $301 million weekly net inflow despite late volatility
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs ended the trading week ending October 23 with a provisional net inflow of approximately $301.2 million, breaking a two-week losing streak. The weekly performance was characterized by extreme volatility, with a massive surge in the first three sessions totaling over $1.07 billion, followed by a sharp reversal in the final two days that saw $773.5 million in net outflows.
BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) was the primary driver of the week’s positive momentum, recording $565.7 million in net inflows. IBIT’s performance significantly outpaced the rest of the market; without its contributions, the remaining Bitcoin ETFs would have finished the week with a net loss of approximately $264.5 million.
In contrast, Ethereum ETFs faced continued downward pressure, recording a net outflow of roughly $221 million over the same period. This divergence highlights a growing gap in institutional demand between the two leading cryptocurrencies, as Ethereum ETFs struggle with sustained withdrawals while Bitcoin funds maintain a net positive, albeit volatile, weekly trend.
