Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs experience volatile capital flows

U.S. spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs have experienced significant volatility in capital flows during late October. While Bitcoin ETFs saw a massive surge in inflows totaling approximately $526.6 million on October 19, driven largely by BlackRock’s IBIT, which recorded a single-day net inflow of $665.16 million, this momentum shifted toward net outflows in subsequent sessions.

By October 22, Bitcoin ETFs recorded substantial net outflows, with some reports citing figures between $635.6 million and $679 million. Ethereum ETFs faced similar pressure, with net outflows reported around $110 million to $111 million during the same period. BlackRock’s ETHA was a primary driver of these Ethereum-related withdrawals.

Market analysts note that while ETF flows can indicate institutional interest, they may act more as a lagging indicator of market trends rather than a predictive tool. Additionally, the correlation between ETF flows and future price movements remains low. Amidst these fluctuations, Bitcoin has faced price volatility, testing key support levels around $82,500 and $83,000.
