Bitcoin Group SE reports revenue decline amid MiCAR licensing delays
Bitcoin Group SE has reported its 2026 half-year results, highlighting a significant revenue decline and the ongoing suspension of trading on its marketplace, bitcoin.de.
Trading on bitcoin.de has been halted since late June 2026. The company attributed this delay to the pending acquisition of a specific license for crypto-asset service providers under the European Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCAR) regulation. While the technological infrastructure for the new platform is complete, the company is currently awaiting regulatory approval.
Financial performance for the first half of 2026 showed revenues of €1.59 million, down from €3.78 million in the same period in 2025. The company reported an EBITDA of -€3.25 million, impacted by a weak crypto market environment and high investments in technological realignment. Despite these challenges, the group maintains a strong balance sheet with a net crypto inventory of €199 million and an equity ratio of 71.8%.
CEO Moritz Eckert stated that the company has fulfilled all requirements within its own control, noting that the remaining steps depend on regulatory authorities.
