Bitcoin enters September following strong August gains

Bitcoin is entering September following a strong August, which saw the cryptocurrency gain approximately 24% to 25%. This performance marked its strongest monthly advance since November 2024. As of early September, the price has been consolidating in a range between $77,000 and $80,000, with traders closely watching the $80,000 to $82,000 resistance zone to confirm a potential bull market phase.

Institutional demand remains a significant driver. MicroStrategy recently acquired an additional 4,603 BTC, valued at approximately $369.7 million, bringing its total holdings to 845,050 BTC. Additionally, spot Bitcoin ETFs in the United States have seen notable activity, including a period of significant net inflows.

Despite the recent gains, market analysts suggest caution due to macroeconomic factors. Potential headwinds include Federal Reserve monetary policy shifts, upcoming employment and inflation data, and fluctuations in Treasury yields and the U.S. dollar. While technical indicators show some bearish short-term momentum, strong support has been observed around the $77,000 level.
