Crypto ETFs see divergent flows as Bitcoin outflows contrast Ethereum and XRP gains

The cryptocurrency ETF market is experiencing divergent trends across major assets. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw a reversal in momentum, recording $201.81 million in net outflows on August 28, which ended a nine-day streak of inflows. Despite this, Bitcoin saw significant weekly inflows of approximately $924.5 million for the period ending August 28.

In contrast, Ethereum spot ETFs have maintained strong momentum, recording ten consecutive sessions of net inflows. On August 28, Ethereum ETFs saw approximately $102.1 million in inflows, contributing to a cumulative inflow total of roughly $13 billion. BlackRock’s ETHA fund has been a primary driver of this activity.

XRP ETFs are also showing significant institutional interest. Bitwise’s XRP ETF surpassed $500 million in assets under management within nine months of its launch. Additionally, XRP ETFs recorded approximately $110 million in net inflows during a single week in late August, marking their strongest weekly performance of 2026. Cumulative net inflows for XRP ETFs have reached approximately $1.8 billion, with Goldman Sachs emerging as a major institutional holder with $87.4 million in exposure.
