Bitget restricts services in Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan
Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has updated its terms of use to prohibit services for residents and operators in Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. The exchange described the move as a “one-off exercise” intended to maintain a secure and compliant trading environment.
Affected users are receiving individual notifications via email, in-app messages, or push notifications detailing specific deadlines for closing positions and withdrawing assets. While some users have reported deadlines as early as October 21, Bitget noted that timelines vary by account and that customers who have not received official notices can continue using the platform.
In addition to regional restrictions, Bitget’s Chinese subsidiary announced it would terminate accounts involved in fund flows with 20 sanctioned platforms, including BitPapa and NoOnecrypto Inc. These entities have previously been flagged by the U.S. Treasury and the EU for non-compliance or links to sanctioned regions. The exchange emphasized that these measures are part of broader efforts to strengthen controls over digital asset deposits and withdrawals involving sanctioned entities.
