BitMart explores restructuring plan as alternative to full shutdown
Cryptocurrency exchange BitMart is exploring a potential restructuring plan as an alternative to its previously announced full wind-down. The company is considering a phased resumption of certain operations alongside distributions to creditors.
BitMart has appointed the law firm White & Case as its restructuring counsel to work with other advisers to evaluate options and develop a framework for business resumption. This new direction follows a July 26 announcement that the exchange would stop accepting new users and deposits before ending all trading services on August 26, with a total cessation of operations scheduled for January 31, 2027.
The proposed relaunch remains subject to legal, financial, operational, and regulatory assessments. The company intends to consult with its community once a business resumption plan is developed and expects to provide further updates by September 9, 2026.
