Bittu Tabahi joins Bengaluru clean-up drive near Turahalli forest

Environmental activist Surendra Singh Choudhary, widely known as Bittu Tabahi, participated in the ‘Clean Up Turahalli’ campaign near Bengaluru’s Turahalli forest. The drive, which took place in Banashankari 6th Stage, resulted in the removal of more than two tonnes of waste.

During the operation, Tabahi expressed shock at the types of refuse discovered along the forest boundary. In addition to plastic waste, volunteers encountered poultry waste, medical waste, sanitary waste, and dog carcasses. Tabahi criticized the lack of civic sense among the public, noting that keeping surroundings clean appears to be a low priority for many.

The initiative was organized by The Indian Garage Co in collaboration with Indus Herbs, with assistance from the Greater Bengaluru Authority. Other participants included environmentalist AN Yellappa Reddy and Ramakrishna Ganeshan of India Plog Run.
