Bittu Tabahi environmental cleanup campaigns

Overview

Environmental activist Surendra Singh Choudhary, known as Bittu Tabahi, has led several waste removal campaigns across different regions in India.

In mid-September, a ‘Clean Up Turahalli’ campaign near Bengaluru’s Turahalli forest removed over two tonnes of waste, including plastic, medical, and poultry refuse. The initiative was organized by The Indian Garage Co and Indus Herbs with assistance from the Greater Bengaluru Authority.

By late September, the focus shifted to the National Capital Region (NCR). Through the #CleanWithBittu campaign, a multi-day drive removed a total of 3,020 kg of waste across various locations. The initiative began in Delhi on September 20, where volunteers removed 585 kg of waste, including plastic and floral garlands, from the banks of the Yamuna River.

On September 21, the campaign moved to the Khedki Daula area in Gurugram, where the team collected 2,435 kg of refuse. This effort specifically targeted plastic waste to prevent harm to local animals, such as cows, that often ingest it. The three-day drive was scheduled to conclude at the Yuva Shakti Ghat in Sector 94, Noida, aiming to promote public awareness regarding waste management and urban cleanliness.
