Bjelovar prepares to open Wellovar thermal spa

The Wellovar thermal spa project in Veliko Korenovo is nearing completion. Bjelovar Mayor Dario Hrebak noted that the thermal well will be named ‘Ivičino vrelo’ in honor of the late Ivica Markovinović, the former municipal official who first identified the thermal water source in the area.

Hrebak recalled that the project originated from a discussion with Markovinović in 2017, who suggested building a thermal spa instead of a standard heated pool to manage costs. Following the confirmation of suitable water quality through drilling, the project moved toward realization.
