BJP alleges CPI(M) control over Kerala Home Department
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused the Kerala Home Department of remaining under the influence of the CPI(M) despite a change in government. BJP State General Secretary Anoop Antony alleged that key decisions are still being driven by the police force and CPI(M) members rather than the current administration.
Antony cited an Onam celebration held at the Museum Police Station as evidence of this influence. He noted that individuals accused in a case involving an attack on Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials, including CPI(M) leader I. P. Binu, were permitted to participate in the festivities inside the station. The BJP leader further alleged that the Station House Officer purchased festive gifts and clothing for those facing criminal charges.
Antony called for a comprehensive inquiry and demanded that Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala take strict action against the officers involved to ensure the rule of law is upheld.
