BJP leader R. Ashoka criticizes Karnataka government

Senior BJP leader and Leader of the Opposition R. Ashoka has leveled several accusations against the Karnataka government regarding water management and internal political conduct.

Ashoka alleged that the state government is betraying the interests of Karnataka by releasing 3,000 cusecs of Cauvery water daily to Tamil Nadu for 15 days. He claimed this decision was made despite severe drought conditions, declining reservoir levels, and shortages of drinking water for local farmers and residents. Ashoka accused the administration of failing to effectively represent the state's interests before the Cauvery Water Regulation Committee and the Cauvery Water Management Authority.

Additionally, Ashoka addressed a controversy involving alleged sting operations and blackmail within the ruling Congress party. He criticized Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, alleging that internal rivalries and covert recordings are being used for political advantage. Ashoka characterized the administration as being plagued by internal betrayal and mismanagement.
