BJP leaders campaign for Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election in Assam

Senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are intensifying campaign efforts for the upcoming Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election in Assam. Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal held multiple election meetings in the Morigaon and Nagaon regions, campaigning for candidate Debashish Sharma. Sonowal emphasized the role of women in empowerment and credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for continuous development across the state.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also addressed campaign meetings in Raidongia and Morigaon. While acknowledging that Nagaon is a difficult constituency for the BJP, Sarma stated that grassroots mobilization has placed the party in a “winnable position.” He claimed the party is seeing increased support from minority voters and linked the campaign to large-scale development plans for Assam. Sarma also responded to criticisms from Congress leader Rakibul Hussain, urging political introspection.

Other BJP officials, including Assam Pradesh President Dilip Saikia and various state cabinet ministers, have participated in local meetings to support the party's candidate and promote the vision of inclusive development.
