BJP MLA alleges son-in-law involved in marriage fraud involving 25 women

BJP MLA Gyan Tiwari of Uttar Pradesh has publicly alleged that his daughter was deceived into marriage by a man involved in a widespread fraud scheme. Tiwari claims his son-in-law, Prakhar Trivedi, and his father, Anuj Trivedi, used false identities and misrepresented their professional backgrounds to facilitate fraudulent marriages.

Authorities have arrested both Prakhar and Anuj Trivedi in connection with the case. Investigations suggest that Anuj Trivedi, a resident of Sitapur district, is accused of deceiving approximately 25 women through fraudulent marriages across various states by posing as a Mumbai-based real estate businessman.

The MLA stated that the family arranged the marriage in 2024 after receiving favorable references from influential individuals, unaware of the alleged criminal history. Tiwari has expressed his intent to sever all ties with the accused family and has pledged his full support to his daughter, Dr. Pragya Tiwari, in any subsequent legal proceedings.
