BJP MLC C.T. Ravi FIRed for Alleged Hate Speech During NEET Protest
Karnataka police have lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against BJP Member of the Legislative Council C. T. Ravi under Section 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The complaint was filed by Mudassir Pasha, president of Jamia Masjid in Chikkamagaluru, after Ravi allegedly said that a “mulla” was involved in the NEET paper‑leak protests and linked the demonstrators to the “tukde‑tukde gang” opposing the CAA and NRC. Ravi’s remarks were made at a gathering following a protest march organised by the Youth for Nation group in Chikkamagaluru. The Karnataka State Muslim Federation has demanded immediate arrest of Ravi, saying his statements seek to stir communal hatred and disturb peace. The FIR was registered following directions from the Principal Civil Judge and Chief Judicial Magistrate in Chikkamagaluru.
