Björk expands 'Echolalia' project with international exhibitions

Musician and artist Björk is expanding her multidisciplinary 'Echolalia' project through a series of immersive musical and visual experiences. Following a festival held in Hafnarfjörður, Iceland, which synchronized a DJ set with a total solar eclipse and celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Smekkleysa record label, the project is moving into international exhibition phases.

In Bielsko-Biała, Poland, the Wędrujący Festiwal will host the second international installment of the Echolalia exhibition from October 2 to 25. The exhibition features three large-scale installations—'Ancestress', 'Sorrowful Soil', and 'Nerve Bloom'—located across various historical sites in the city, including Villa Teodora Sixta. These works explore themes of memory, community, nature, and transformation.

The project also includes an immersive exhibition at the National Gallery of Iceland, featuring music written in memory of Björk's mother. This ongoing creative cycle serves as a precursor to her next album, which is scheduled for release in 2027.
