Overview

The multidisciplinary ‘Echolalia’ project by Icelandic artist Björk began with a musical and performance art event in Hafnarfjörður, Iceland. Held at the Víðistaðatún sculpture park, the event featured a DJ set by Björk to celebrate a total solar eclipse and the 40th anniversary of the Smekkleysa record label.

The project is now expanding into international exhibitions. In Bielsko-Biała, Poland, the Wędrujący Festiwal will host an installment from October 2 to 25, featuring large-scale installations such as ‘Ancestress’, ‘Sorrowful Soil’, and ‘Nerve Bloom’. Additionally, an immersive exhibition is being held at the National Gallery of Iceland, featuring music composed in memory of the artist’s mother. These creative works serve as a precursor to Björk’s upcoming album, scheduled for release in 2027.
