Black Friday fraud risks rise with AI technology

As Black Friday approaches, consumers face increasing risks from sophisticated digital fraud. Data from Serasa Experian indicates that fraudulent advertisements surged by 147% during the event's week last year.

The advancement of Artificial Intelligence has enabled criminals to create highly convincing scams, including cloned audio of famous personalities and simulated videos. Fraudsters are now capable of replicating official retailer websites and using urgent messaging via email, social media, and messaging apps to deceive buyers.

With 62% of Brazilians intending to shop this year, experts recommend several precautions: verifying that prices are realistic, avoiding suspicious links or aggressive countdown timers, and carefully checking the recipient's name when making payments via Pix or bank slips.
