Black Princesses prepare for FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup
Ghana’s national U-20 women’s football team, the Black Princesses, are preparing for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland, scheduled to begin on September 5. The team has been placed in Group C alongside France, the Korea Republic, and Ecuador.
Ghana’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Theresa Adjei-Mensah, met with the delegation to offer encouragement and pledged government support. She noted that the Ghanaian presidency is aware of the team's campaign and intends to mobilize the Ghanaian community in Poland to support the players.
Team captain Linda Owusu Ansah expressed optimism regarding the tournament. Despite having qualified for eight consecutive editions, the Black Princesses have yet to advance past the group stage. Ansah stated that the resilience shown during the qualifying rounds provides the team with the confidence necessary to attempt to reach the knockout stages this year.
