Black women leaders launch political manifesto for 2026 elections

Black women activists and leaders gathered in Brasília to launch the ‘Manifesto Político das Mulheres Negras do Brasil: O Pacto do Bem Viver e as Eleições 2026’. Coordinated by the Articulação de Mulheres Negras Brasileiras (AMNB), the document advocates for a political system centered on ‘Bem Viver’ (Well-Living), emphasizing justice, equity, solidarity, and dignified life in public policy formulation.

The manifesto seeks to position Black women—specifically those identifying as pretas and pardas—at the center of the political process, not merely as recipients of social programs, but as voters, community leaders, and candidates for legislative and executive offices. The movement aims to leverage the decisive electoral weight of Black women to amplify collective voices in defense of racial and gender equality.
