Youth summer camps across Romania and Moldova offer education, faith and safety programs

In July 2026 a series of youth summer camps were held across Romania and Moldova, combining educational, cultural and religious activities with safety training. In Dâmbovița, 42 high‑performing teens attended a five‑day program at the Peștera Monastery that mixed prayers, outdoor activities and workshops on online fraud and road safety in partnership with the local police.

A poetry festival in Dumitrești celebrated both secular and religious verse, while in Brașov the Association of Romani in Făgăraș launched the “Without Hate – Together for United Communities” project to teach roughly 200 Romani teenagers how to recognise fake news, hate speech and AI‑generated content.

The Dolj County Police ran the “Violence Costs Freedom” campaign, providing anti‑violence and online‑safety briefings to maternity‑home staff, and the Gorj police joined children at the “Little Apostles” camp to demonstrate bullying prevention and safe road‑behaviour.

Religious‑focused camps were organised in Pogonești (85 children), Suseni and other parishes, featuring liturgies, pilgrimages and workshops on crafts and health.

In the Republic of Moldova, Bălţi hosted a chemistry summer school where children performed hands‑on experiments, and the “Universul Curioșilor” camp in Unghiul offered games, creative workshops and scientific activities. All initiatives aimed to enrich youth development, promote community cohesion and strengthen digital and personal safety.
