BLIK expands into Slovakia via mBank mobile payments

The Polish mobile payment system, BLIK, is expanding its international presence. mBank Slovakia has begun implementing BLIK within its mobile application, with the service set to become available to all its customers starting October 1. This follows the recent debut of the service at Tatra Banka in September 2024.

According to Polski Standard Płatności, the strategic goal is to build a comprehensive system in Slovakia modeled after the Polish market, involving widespread cooperation across the banking sector. Following the Slovakian expansion, the organization is preparing to introduce the service to Romania.

In addition to international growth, various reports highlight the continued integration of BLIK within the Polish online gambling and e-commerce sectors, where it is utilized for rapid deposits and withdrawals due to its speed and convenience.
