Colombia earthquake relief: Artists raise millions in Bogotá benefit concert
Musicians and fans have mobilized to support recovery efforts following a 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Colombia on August 10. The disaster has resulted in 329 deaths, 4,592 injuries, and 234 people missing.
A major benefit concert titled ‘Colombia: Voces por la Vida’ was held at the Vive Claro Distrito Cultural in Bogotá. The event featured over 30 artists, including Maluma, Sebastián Yatra, Miguel Bosé, and Manuel Turizo. The concert successfully raised over 11 billion Colombian pesos, approximately $3.6 million, to assist affected families.
Singer Karol G contributed significantly through her Con Cora Foundation, donating $1.2 million to the cause. Due to her location in Los Angeles, she participated in the event via livestream. All proceeds from the concert and artist contributions are being directed to Presente Corporación to fund reconstruction and aid for the earthquake victims.
