Blood services expand in Capannori and emergency drives launch in Italy

New blood services and emergency donation drives are being implemented across various Italian regions to support healthcare needs.

In Capannori, the Misericordia di Capannori will begin offering blood collection services starting September 2. Operating every Wednesday at the via Romana location, these samples will be processed by the Azienda USL laboratory. This initiative aims to establish the Misericordia as a strategic hub for the Ausl Toscana Nord Ovest, strengthening the collaboration between local charitable organizations and the public health system.

Simultaneously, several blood donation drives are being organized to address shortages during the summer period. In the Basilicata and Campania regions, Avis organizations are coordinating collections in Potenza, Oliveto Citra, Battipaglia, and Agropoli. These drives are intended to replenish hospital blood supplies through extraordinary Sunday and Monday collection sessions.
