Blora food poisoning: BGN dismisses SPPG head and suspends kitchen

The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has dismissed the head of the Sukorejo 2 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) and suspended the facility's operations for 30 days following a mass food poisoning incident in Blora. The incident, involving the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program, affected hundreds of individuals, including students, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers.

Trenggono, Vice Chairman of the BGN, stated that the kitchen failed to meet operational standards and violated numerous Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). While the BGN declined a request from local task forces to permanently close the facility, it has implemented a heavy suspension. The agency is currently investigating the matter, including laboratory results, to determine if there were criminal elements or intentional negligence.

In response to the incident, a local resident has filed a report with the Blora Police. Ahmad Afif Jaelani Asy’ari, the dismissed head of SPPG Sukorejo 2, stated he accepts the decision. He noted that certain issues, such as the placement of ingredients near toilets and the use of bulk oil, were part of the kitchen's policy regarding supplies provided by third-party partners.
