The Blue Devils Weiden secured their first victory of the DEL2 season with a 3-2 win against Eispiraten Crimmitschau. While the win provides relief for Weiden, the match was overshadowed by intense controversy regarding officiating.

Eispiraten Crimmitschau coach Jussi Tuores heavily criticized the referees following the loss, claiming the team had to compete against seven men. Tuores alleged that the officiating crew, including referee Caroline Butt, made four incorrect decisions during the game. According to the coach and Crimmitschau spokesperson Aaron Frieß, apologies were reportedly issued for these errors.

The officiating significantly impacted the game, as Crimmitschau served 18 penalty minutes, allowing Weiden to score on two power plays. Despite the victory, Weiden's coaching staff noted that the performance remains a work in progress following previous heavy losses.
