Blue Devils Weiden lose 2-7 to EV Landshut in preseason

The Blue Devils Weiden suffered a 2-7 defeat against EV Landshut in their penultimate preseason test match for the upcoming DEL2 season. The game, played before 1,041 spectators at the Hans-Schröpf-Arena, marks Weiden's fourth loss in five preparation games.

Despite an early lead through a goal by Voyer in the 7th minute, Weiden failed to capitalize on subsequent opportunities, including a missed breakaway by Tyler Gron. EV Landshut responded quickly, scoring twice within 90 seconds to turn the momentum. The visitors eventually dominated, with Lindberg and Immo contributing multiple goals.

Weiden faced significant roster challenges during the match. Head coach Dave Matsos was absent, leaving co-coach Mikhail Nemirovsky in charge. The team was also missing several key players, including goalkeeper Michael McNiven, Vladislav Filin, Georg Thal, and Filip Reisnecker. As a result, Patrik Mühlberger started in goal.
