Blue Lock live-action film announces new cast and special screenings

The live-action film adaptation of the popular soccer manga "Blue Lock" has seen significant commercial success and expanded casting announcements. Following a strong box office start, drawing over 188,000 viewers and earning approximately 277 million yen in its first three days, production has announced new cast members including Yusei Yagi as Rin Itoshi, Keisuke Watanabe as Jubei Arisu, and Taiko Natsuo as Seishiro Tokimitsu.

Producers revealed that the original creators, Muneyuki Kinoshita and Yusuke Nomura, were involved in the script development to ensure the film avoided becoming a "simple youth friendship movie." Instead, the creators requested a focus on the intense, high-adrenaline awakening of "egoists." The film aims for a realistic approach to soccer choreography, drawing inspiration from the visual style of "THE FIRST SLAM DUNK" to depict high-level athletic movements that remain grounded in physical reality.

Due to the film's popularity, special screenings including "cheering allowed" events and enhanced formats such as MX4D, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema have been scheduled.
