Blue Lock live‑action film slated for Aug 7 release in Japan, Sep 10 in Brazil

The first live‑action adaptation of the popular sports manga Blue Lock released a new preview showing intense striker competition and several iconic scenes. The film, directed by Yusuke Taki and starring Fumiya Takahashi, Kaito Sakurai and Kyohei Takahashi, is scheduled to open in Japanese cinemas on 7 August 2026.

In Brazil, the release was pushed back by four weeks; Sato Company announced a new opening date of 10 September 2026, replacing the previously planned 13 August. The Japanese distributor is Toho, while the Brazilian market will be handled by Sato Company. The story follows Yoichi Isagi, a young striker recruited into the Blue Lock training program to become the world’s best forward.

The franchise, created by writer Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrator Yusuke Nomura, has previously influenced real‑world football, including a special jersey design for the Japan national team at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
