Blue Origin announces major Florida infrastructure expansion

Blue Origin has announced a major expansion of its launch and manufacturing infrastructure in Florida to support increased flight cadences for its New Glenn reusable orbital launch vehicle. A central component of this plan is a $330 million expansion of the Rocket Park manufacturing campus located near NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. Expected to be completed in summer 2027, this facility is designed to produce up to 150 upper stages annually for the New Glenn 9x4 configuration.

The company’s investment in Florida facilities has exceeded $3 billion, supporting over 5,000 employees and approximately 500 local suppliers across more than 20 locations in Brevard and Orange counties. The expansion aims to create an interconnected system to increase production, facilitate simultaneous mission preparations, and reduce the time required to reuse rocket boosters.

These developments follow previous launch milestones and efforts to rebuild infrastructure at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station’s Launch Complex 36. The New Glenn 9x4 model, featuring nine methane-fueled BE-4 engines and four hydrogen-fueled BE-3U engines, is intended to deliver 77 tons to low Earth orbit.
