Blue Origin expands Florida infrastructure for New Glenn launches
Blue Origin is expanding its aerospace infrastructure in Florida to support the New Glenn heavy-lift rocket, aiming to achieve multiple space launches per week by the end of the decade. The company, founded by Jeff Bezos, has already invested over $3 billion in the state.
A key component of this expansion is a $330 million project at the Rocket Park production complex near NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. Scheduled for completion in the summer of 2027, this facility is designed to produce up to 150 upper stages of the New Glenn rocket annually using automated systems for welding, machining, and inspection.
To increase launch frequency and efficiency, the company is also expanding launch infrastructure at Cape Canaveral by adding two additional New Glenn launch pads to the existing LC-36 complex. Furthermore, Blue Origin is developing new maritime platforms and vessels to recover rocket boosters, facilitating faster refurbishment and reuse of hardware to compete in the orbital launch market.
