Bluey Movie teaser and release date revealed at D23

Disney has unveiled the first teaser trailer and poster for ‘The Bluey Movie’ during the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. The feature-length film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 6, 2027.

In a significant stylistic shift from the original television series, the movie will utilize CG animation rather than the traditional 2D style. The teaser features Bluey and Bingo playing ‘Keepy Uppy’ with a red balloon, a nod to the iconic game from the show. The plot is described as an action-packed day where a major surprise changes everything for the Heeler family.

Series creator Joe Brumm will write and direct the film, with Richard Jeffery serving as co-director. The production is a collaboration between Ludo Studio and BBC Studios, with Walt Disney Studios handling global distribution. Original voice cast members Melanie Zanetti (Chilli) and David McCormack (Bandit) are confirmed to return. Following its theatrical run, the film is expected to stream on Disney+.
