Blumenau car accident: Driver falls into ravine after bridge collision

A 65-year-old driver lost control of a red Fiat Pulse on Marechal Deodoro Street in the Velha neighborhood of Blumenau on Tuesday morning. The vehicle struck the side protection of the Rudolfo Ruediger bridge, causing part of the concrete barrier to be destroyed, before falling approximately 10 meters into the Ribeirão da Velha.

Local residents removed the driver from the vehicle before emergency services arrived. The man was found unconscious but breathing. He was immobilized on a rigid stretcher and transported by SAMU to Hospital Santa Isabel. Preliminary reports suggest the driver may have suffered a sudden medical emergency. The Military Fire Department, SAMU, Municipal Traffic Guard, and Military Police attended the scene to manage the incident and secure the area.
