Blumenau celebrates 176 years with week-long cultural festivities

The city of Blumenau is celebrating its 176th anniversary with a special program of cultural, sporting, and leisure activities scheduled from August 29 to September 7.

Key highlights include the ‘Vem pro Parque’ event at Ramiro Ruediger Park, featuring music, gastronomy, and crafts. The park will also host ‘Cine Park,’ an outdoor cinema event showing the films ‘Elemental’ and ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.’

Other scheduled festivities include a guided city tour led by Sueli Petry, a ceremony honoring the city's founders at the Dr. Blumenau Mausoleum, and a traditional parade on Rua 15 de Novembro on September 2. The celebrations will conclude on September 7 with parades in Vila Itoupava and the traditional cutting of a 202-meter giant ‘cuca’ cake.
