Blumenau watchdog flags fuel hikes; Joinville offers discount program
The consumer protection agency (Procon) in Blumenau inspected 66 fuel stations and found unjustified price increases at 20 of them. Those stations were issued administrative sanctions and have 20 days to present a defence, while 42 stations were able to justify their price adjustments.
In Joinville, the local Chamber of Businesspeople (CDL) launched a subscription service called CDL Pop. For a monthly fee of R$9.90 per vehicle, members receive direct discounts at participating stations – up to R$0.30 per litre for gasoline, R$0.50 for diesel, and lower discounts for ethanol and CNG – with potential savings of up to R$200 per month for high‑frequency drivers.
