BME launches VIPERTRON® electronic initiation system for mining
BME has launched the VIPERTRON® Electronic Initiation System, aimed at accelerating the mining industry's transition from non-electric (NONEL) to electronic blasting technology.
According to BME Managing Director Ralf Hennecke, while electronic systems offer superior accuracy, safety, and blast performance, widespread adoption has been hindered by capital constraints, skills shortages, and operational pressures. Many mining operations have viewed the transition as too costly or complex, often preferring traditional systems to avoid disruption.
The VIPERTRON® system is designed to overcome these barriers by making electronic initiation more accessible, intuitive, and economically viable for a broader range of mining operations, rather than being a premium solution reserved only for large-scale or highly mechanized sites.
