BME mining technology and training developments

Overview

BME has introduced new technologies and training tools aimed at improving efficiency and safety within the mining sector.

Initially, the company launched the VIPERTRON® electronic initiation system. This technology is intended to facilitate the mining industry’s transition from non-electric (NONEL) to electronic blasting by addressing barriers such as high costs, complexity, and skills shortages. The system seeks to make electronic initiation more accessible and economically viable for various mining operations.

Following this, BME launched a Portable Training Unit for underground mining. This towable replica of underground charging equipment allows operators to practice responding to equipment faults and emergencies in a controlled environment. The unit is designed to build muscle memory and situational awareness without interrupting active production or risking personnel and assets.
