BMW and Mapbox to launch integrated 3D mapping system

BMW Group, in collaboration with Mapbox, is developing an integrated 3D mapping system for its vehicles. Scheduled for implementation starting in October 2026, the BMW MaPS feature with driver assistance will consolidate route guidance, vehicle surroundings, and driver assistance information into a single 3D view.

The technology aims to merge high-precision map data with vehicle sensor technology to provide seamless visualization for both highway driving and complex urban environments.
