BMW confirms 2025 M5 Touring return to US market

BMW has officially confirmed that the 2025 M5 Touring will be released in the United States market. This marks the return of the high-performance estate to American dealerships for the first time since the E34 generation ended in the early 1990s.

The vehicle features a plug-in hybrid powertrain consisting of a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine paired with an electric motor. This combination produces a total of 727 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque, allowing for an estimated 0 to 60 mph acceleration time of 3.4 seconds. The car utilizes an eight-speed automatic transmission and the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

Despite a curb weight of approximately 5,500 pounds, the M5 Touring includes advanced chassis technology to manage performance, such as active anti-roll bars, adaptive M suspension, and rear-wheel steering. The hybrid system provides roughly 25 miles of electric-only driving range.
