BMW expanding X5 lineup with new hybrid and electric models
BMW is expanding its fifth-generation X5 lineup in Europe. Starting October 8, customers will be able to order three new models: the 50e xDrive plug-in hybrid, the M60e xDrive plug-in hybrid, and the fully electric iX5 60 xDrive.
In Germany, the 50e xDrive is expected to start at approximately €102,800, while the M60e xDrive and the iX5 60 xDrive are projected to begin around €125,000. These models join the existing 40 xDrive and 40d xDrive versions, all featuring standard all-wheel drive.
Production of the conventionally powered inline-six models has commenced at the Spartanburg plant in South Carolina, with European deliveries scheduled to begin on November 28. The plug-in hybrid and electric versions are slated to enter the assembly line in December, with customer deliveries expected to start on March 6 next year. A V8-powered M Performance model is also anticipated for 2027.
