BMW iX3 sells over 10,000 units in first two months, becoming top EV in its class

BMW reports that its new iX3 electric SUV has surpassed 10,000 registrations within the first two months after deliveries began in April, making it the best‑selling EV in its segment. The model posted a 171 % sales surge through April, outpacing rivals such as the Audi Q4 e‑tron, Polestar 4 and Audi Q5 Sportback. BMW’s former CEO Oliver Zipse said the iX3 has received more than 50,000 orders since its launch.

The entry‑level iX3 40 is priced at €63,400 in Germany and offers a WLTP range of 628 km, while the iX3 50 xDrive starts at €73,925, delivers up to 469 hp and a range of up to 805 km. In the United States the 50 xDrive is available from $61,500 with an EPA‑estimated range of 434 miles. The strong early demand has prompted BMW to add a second production shift to meet orders before exporting the vehicle to Asia and the US.
