BMW Motorrad reports Indian bike sales and unveils 2027 M1000RR upgrades

BMW Motorrad India recorded sales of 2,327 motorcycles in the first half of 2026, led by the high‑powered models S 1000 RR, 900 GS & GSA and 1300 GS & GSA. The company launched the adventure‑oriented F 450 GS in April 2026 at a price of ₹4.70 lakh; the first delivery batch sold out in June and waiting periods have stretched to five months in major metros. Production of the 420 cc, 47 bhp F 450 GS is handled by TVS Motor Company at its Hosur plant, with many units earmarked for export to Europe, including the UK.

Separately, BMW announced a 2027 update to its M1000RR superbike, targeting World Superbike regulations. The revision features a new 3rd‑generation aluminium‑cast chassis that is 30 % thinner, shedding 1.3 kg and improving flex characteristics, while retaining overall weight. Carbon‑composite wheels are replaced by heavier forged alloy options, and new M Track Package II and M Competition Package options are introduced. Pricing will stay within the WSBK €44,000 cap.
