Overview

BMW Motorrad’s 2027 programme features significant technical and cosmetic upgrades. Expanding the 2027 lineup, BMW has introduced the M 1000 R naked bike. It utilizes a 999 cc four-cylinder engine derived from the S 1000 RR, producing 210 CV at 13,750 rpm and 113 Nm of torque. The model features ShiftCam variable valve distribution, titanium valves, and active aerodynamics with movable winglets to manage wind resistance at speeds up to 280 km/h.

Regulatory filings from the EPA and CARB suggest the M 1000 RS sport-touring model is also in development for 2027. Positioned between the M 1000 RR and the M 1000 XR, it is expected to use the M 1000 RR’s engine, potentially producing 218 hp at 14,500 rpm with a top speed exceeding 300 km/h. The model is projected to weigh approximately 280 kg. Additionally, BMW is testing a mid-weight adventure prototype to bridge the gap between the F 450 GS and F 900 GS, likely utilizing a revised F 450 GS engine developed with TVS.
