BMW Motorrad wins first FIM Endurance World Championship title

BMW Motorrad has secured its first FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC) title following a victory at the Bol d’Or 24-hour race at Le Castellet. The factory team, operating the #37 BMW M 1000 RR, dominated the season finale to finish the championship with 158 points, narrowly defeating YART Yamaha, which ended with 154 points.

The winning crew consisted of Michael van der Mark, Markus Reiterberger, and Steven Odendaal. After securing pole position, the team maintained a consistent lead throughout the race, finishing one lap ahead of the Suzuki #12 team. This victory serves as redemption for the manufacturer after a mechanical failure cost them the title at the same circuit the previous year.

While BMW is a German manufacturer, the factory squad is managed by the Belgian-based MRP Racing organization, led by former racer Werner Daemen. Based in Genk, Belgium, MRP Racing operates the official factory team and handles the preparation of the racing motorcycles.
