BMW potentially preparing M 1000 RS motorcycle for 2027

BMW is reportedly preparing to expand its M performance lineup with a new motorcycle model, the M 1000 RS, potentially arriving in 2027. This development was indicated by registration filings with the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board.

The M 1000 RS is expected to occupy a position between the M 1000 RR superbike and the M 1000 XR adventure sport bike, focusing on a blend of sport and travel. Homologation data suggests the machine may utilize the four-cylinder engine from the M 1000 RR, producing 218 hp at 14,500 rpm with a top speed exceeding 300 km/h. The model is projected to have a curb weight of approximately 280 kg, roughly 10 kg heavier than the RR.
