BMW unveils 2027 S 1000 RR prototype with new chassis and joystick
BMW has tested a prototype of its next‑generation S 1000 RR superbike at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The bike shows a completely redesigned front fairing with larger aerodynamic wings, an enclosed rear swingarm, a reworked front engine‑mount section and a new chassis overall.
The prototype is fitted with Brembo Hypure brakes, a larger TFT display, and replaces the classic Multi‑Function Controller (the “Wonder Wheel”) with a conventional four‑direction joystick and additional buttons. Power estimates range from about 215 hp to over 230 hp, and the overall finish suggests the model is close to production for a 2027 launch.
