BMW unveils all‑electric iX5 SUV for the Norwegian market
BMW presented the fifth‑generation X5 as the fully electric iX5 60 xDrive. The model uses an 800‑volt architecture, cylindrical battery cells and promises a range of up to 435 miles (about 700‑800 km) on the EPA cycle. Fast charging can add roughly 35 miles in ten minutes, and the vehicle supports bidirectional Vehicle‑to‑Home/Grid charging. Production is scheduled for December, with the first Norwegian deliveries expected in the first quarter of 2027.
In a separate Norwegian test conducted by NAF, 24 electric cars were driven from Oslo toward Dovrefjell. The BMW iX3 set a record distance of 781 km on a single charge, exceeding its WLTP‑rated range by 1.45 percent. Several other models also outperformed or fell short of their claimed ranges, but the overall average deviation was just 0.2 percent, indicating manufacturers' WLTP figures are generally reliable for consumers.
