BMW unveils high-speed charging for iX5 and upgrades X3 M50 xDrive

BMW has announced significant technical updates for its electric and combustion engine vehicle lineups. The new BMW iX5 features a 141 kWh battery utilizing an 800-volt architecture, capable of a peak DC charging power of 460 kW. This allows the battery to charge from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 23 minutes. The iX5 delivers 578 PS and a WLTP range of up to 845 kilometers.

The smaller BMW iX3 40 xDrive utilizes an 82.6 kWh net capacity battery with a maximum DC charging power of 300 kW, enabling a 10 to 80 percent charge in 17 minutes.

Additionally, the BMW X3 M50 xDrive has received performance and aesthetic upgrades. The 3.0-liter inline-six engine now produces 326 kW (443 PS) via 48-volt mild-hybrid technology. The model also features a new Black Package, which includes 22-inch M light-alloy wheels, black high-gloss M logos, and an interior with extensive Alcantara trim and carbon-look accents.
