BMW unveils Vision Alpina concept as it prepares to launch new luxury brand

At the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on Lake Como, BMW presented the Vision Alpina, a 5.2‑metre two‑door coupé powered by a V8 delivering over 700 hp. The concept combines classic Alpina styling cues – pronounced rear fenders, distinctive front splitter, 20‑spoke wheels – with a luxurious interior featuring polished metal, crystal accents and extensive leather. While BMW describes the car as a study, the reveal signals that the company, which will acquire the Alpina brand rights early in 2026, intends to launch Alpina as an independent luxury marque by 2027, positioned between BMW and Rolls‑Royce. The prototype relies on BMW’s 7‑series platform and emphasizes high‑speed, long‑distance driving, with a projected top speed above 300 km/h and a focus on a powerful, naturally aspirated engine rather than electrification.
