BMW X3 lineup demonstrates 800 km electric range and over 80 km plug‑in hybrid capability
The BMW X3 30e plug‑in hybrid SUV has been praised for its premium quality, comfort and technology, delivering a zero‑emission label and an electric‑only range of more than 80 km when regularly charged. Its 299 hp powertrain offers smooth transitions between electric and gasoline power and a refined driving experience.
In China, BMW’s iX3 electric crossover completed a more than 800 km loop around Qinghai Lake on a single charge, finishing with 2 % battery remaining. The test recorded a consumption of 12.2 kWh per 100 km despite altitude gains of over 2 000 m and low temperatures. The iX3 uses a 108.7 kWh battery that can be charged from 10 % to 80 % in 21 minutes with 400 kW DC fast‑charging, a capability that will be shared with upcoming European and U.S. models.
